It’s British Sandwich Week! A week dedicated to celebrating quite possibly one of the most iconic British foods... the sandwich. Created in the late 1700’s, the sandwich is said to be named after Lord John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich. It is rumoured that the Lord was a devoted gambler and didn’t like to take time away from his games to eat and would therefore ask for slices of meat to be served between two pieces of bread. This caught on amongst others and voila! The sandwich that we know and love today was born.

As part of this week’s celebration, we decided to gather some of our favourite sandwich ideas from our bloggers, customers and our own recipes, to inspire and encourage our readers to recreate and enjoy a range of tasty gluten free sandwiches.
